Wired Youth – Fall 2023 Launch
Summer is coming to a close and it’s time to get this new school year started! I can hardly believe this will mark the start of my THIRD school year here at KCC!! A ton of prayer and reflection has gone into this past year, and I’m truly excited for what God has in store for this upcoming school year. Manistee Church of Christ Ordains Elders
On July 23 we sent two of our elders (Rich Hodgman and Scott Kniss) to the Manistee Church of Christ to participate in the ordination of two of their elders (Jim Brand and Will Pegg). Manistee has been led by these two men for the past few years. As they have taken on the role of preaching and teaching, they thought it appropriate to be placed in that office by their congregation. The Power of a Good Bug Net…and God’s Word
One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to hike. I’ve been hiking on the North Country Trail, and doing about 50 miles a year on it for the last 3 years. Who is My Neighbor?
Who is My Neighbor? I just finished my second year as the High School dean at Wilderness Christian Assembly a couple of weeks ago. It was an exciting week of learning and fun! The Sheep and the Goats – Matthew 25:31-46 Jesus tells a parable in the gospel of Matthew about Judgment Day when all the nations will be gathered before him. Planting Seeds
Some days I question whether I am making a difference. I wonder if the lessons I am teaching are reaching the kids. It is a hard balance to keep their attention, help them to learn a lesson, and have games and crafts pertaining to the story to help it stick. It’s Summer
What’s your plan? Every year summer comes around and we love it! The clear waters of the Manistee River or Torch Lake. Local small-town festivals and craft fairs are within driving distance. And northern Michigan weather is the best in the summer. We can warm up nicely during the day and then enjoy a bonfire at night (if Smoky Bear says it’s okay). However, if we aren’t careful, summer can slide right by us if we don’t map out what our summer plans look like. The same How COVID has affected us
