Future location of Kalkaska Church of Christ

Here we go (again)!

As we begin a new phase in the life of KCC through modifying the building, I came across a blog that Joyce Tugan did a great job of putting together. It was entitled “Here We Go” and it detailed the progress of construction for the current building we now meet in. There are some great photos, videos, and details of what went into 1725 W. Kalkaska Rd! Check it out. http://herewego.kccwired.com

Lower Level Improvements Begin

One Step Forward By Andy Bratton, Senior Minister Things are getting ready to happen with our lower level construction project and I wanted to bring everyone up to speed on the why and what of the happenings. When I arrived in 2015 I had a weekend getaway with the Elders to discuss the current health of the church and to create a strategy going forward. When I started here at KCC, what was fresh in people’s minds was a horrific How COVID has affected us

Balance

By David Acker, Youth Minister bal·ance:  a condition in which different elements are equal or in the correct proportions. It’s a new year, it’s time for a new you. We have heard it before and perhaps some of us have been saying it. Magically hoping that this year will be the year that we find pace, balance, and time to achieve the things that we have been putting off. The change of the calendar reminds us to reprioritize our time, How COVID has affected us
Sara with Friends

My Best Friend

By Sara Blasko, Children’s Ministry Director One of my favorite verses in the Bible is Romans 12:15. It is one of my favorite verses about friendship. “Rejoice with those rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.” I have some amazing friends that have done all of these things for me this past month. Rejoicing in the victories and mourning when tough stuff is going on.  Over the years I have realized that my friends can be there for fun, be there How COVID has affected us

Jesus Runs To The Mess

By David Acker, Youth Minister Here a great number of disabled people used to lie – the blind, the lame, the paralyzed. One who was there had been a paralytic for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?” “Sir,” the man replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. Putting Words in Sherry’s Mouth

As many of you have probably been made aware by now, our sister in Christ and friend, Sherry Johnson went to be with Jesus Tuesday morning at 9:07 AM.  I asked Sherry last week what message she wanted me to share at her funeral. She was very specific as to what to share and so I will wait until Saturday morning to share that message.  However, in regards to Sherry, I would like to share a short passage of Scripture How COVID has affected us

Todd & Ann Ziems share at KCC

What a refreshing time sharing with Todd & Ann Ziems this past Sunday. The Ziems started Son-International in January 2003 with a heart to share the love of Jesus and provide clean, drinking water for people in Tanzania, Africa. If you missed hearing about their mission work in Tanzania, you can see their talk online either on our website or on our YouTube Channel. Emotional MEMORY OF 9/11 AND RESURRECTION

This is the anniversary of 9/11, a horrific event in the history of our nation. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when the planes hit the towers. Events like this shake our emotions so violently that they carve a lasting memory in our minds. The emotional impact of the event is what makes the memory so vivid and long-lasting. As a Christian, there is another significant event, equally horrific, that I recall. And even though How COVID has affected us

The kcc Farming Society

The KCC Farming Society:  “We plant ’em; God grows ’em”.By Andy Bratton, Senior Minister A guy came into my office before Alice Babcock’s funeral and told me that before Alice died she wanted to meet with him.  He went to the hospital to meet with her, and while he thought he was there for business, Alice looked at him in the eye and told him that she was concerned about his salvation.  She wanted to know if he and his How COVID has affected us
