Burdens
Are you carrying around heavy burdens? Do you stress about things that are out of your control? We are told explicitly over and over in the bible not to do that…Do you know who struggles with obedience in that??? ME! I know better! I’m not sure why my little human brain can’t remember that..but I believe it is pride. I think that I can fix things. What is Love?
I love (fill in the blank). From pizza to puppies, movies to music, sand to sandwiches; our world is overflowing with things we “love”. In addition to loving so many things, our world is filled with a longing to be loved individually. Groundhog Day is today! February 2, 20222. Which makes it 2/2/22 by the way. Punxsutawney Phil did see his shadow today which means 6 more weeks of winter. I recently read about a preacher, who when it was his time to get up and deliver the message, sat in his front-row seat for what seemed like five minutes while the stage was empty. When Did You Get Broken?
When did you get broken? You may not be able to pinpoint a date, but over time we all lost that innocent confidence that comes with childhood. I recently decided to do a self-worth lesson for my 4th and 5th graders. I thought they could be at the brink of that brokenness. Stories. Everybody loves a good story. At least, I know I do! The best stories are the ones that are relatable and believable; ones that you can just lose yourself in. Jesus was a master at telling good stories. His stories about everyday life painted a perfect picture of what it was like to live in the kingdom of God. His stories made people’s heads turn. Happy Birthday Jesus
It’s almost my best friend’s birthday!!! I’m so excited to celebrate! Of course, I’m referring to my bestie Jesus! I like to look at Christmas as more of a birthday party for him so that I remember WHY we are celebrating. It can get a little too reindeer, green tree, shopping, lights, and movies for me.
