| I am excited to share something exciting and new that has come to Kalkaska High school! Myself and Mike Ponstein have started an FCA group for high school athletes. FCA stands for Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is an international organization in almost twenty thousand different schools (Middle School through College),and 114 countries. |
| The focus of the organization is to use sports as an avenue to reach athletes and coaches with the gospel of Jesus. We had our first “huddle” this past Tuesday, and had seven students show up! As a former athlete, I know first-hand how sports can be used as an avenue to reach people. Ideas like teamwork, communication, leadership, sacrifice and many other elements of sports go hand in hand with the gospel and the church. I have been part of many sports camps and have seen God use sports to change the lives of countless youth. As this new chapter starts, I am excited to see how God is going to move and work through this group to further His kingdom. God is doing great things and it is a privilege and an honor to be a part of what He is doing here in Kalkaska!! If you have High School athletes in Kalkaska, encourage them to join our huddle! We meet at KHS every Tuesday at 7am in Room 12. We’d love to have them! |
