Family

Over the years I have had many different “families” whether it was youth group, a sports team, small group, or Church family.  Now, I can add one more family to my story, KCC!  Family is a vital part of being human.  It doesn’t matter if it’s biological, social, or ideological.  No matter how hard you may try, you can’t get away from families, even people who may distance themselves from their family will find a new one wherever they end up.  We naturally gravitate to people who have similar interests or hobbies, likes or dislikes.

That’s how God made us to be, it’s how we are wired.  God said, “it is not good for man to be alone.”  God made us for community, for family.  But, even bigger than that, He made us to be a part of His family.  On Wednesday nights, we are taking our Middle School and High School youth through a series about being plugged in and discovering how we are to plug in to God’s family, and the importance of being plugged in.  See, no matter how great a family is it can never reach its full potential unless it is plugged into Jesus and what He’s done for us.

That is why I am so grateful and blessed to have a new family to belong to.  I can’t say enough how excited I am to be here, a part of the KCC family!  I’m so glad for my family to become a part of the KCC family that is plugged in to God and His family.  I can’t wait to see what God does with this family and how it will grow……especially the Jr. High and Sr. High youth (Hey, I am the youth minister after all!).
