Last week I had the amazing opportunity to lead a mission trip to Atlanta, Georgia. Jana Dickman and myself took 9 high school students to Jesus’ Place, an inner city mission that provides spiritual and physical needs to needy families in their community. On Easter Sunday we attended services at Jesus’ Place and were able to meet some of the congregation which is made up of mostly needy men. We got to be a part of the wonderful system that John Vernon…

A Letter from H.O.P.E. Mission (Badgeros) in Haiti

Jeff is doing a great job getting the plane repaired and teaching. The taxiway for the airport in Gonaives is also moving forward. The owner of the airport, Michal, found us a room above an orphanage by the airport to stay in for the rest of our stay here. What a blessing to be settled! We have a room with a private bathroom, another blessing and a large room connected to it where Jeff could repair the wing for the…

Sunday, February 28th, KCC launched a new sermon series entitled “Making a Murder.” The title is a play off the very popular Netflix drama “Making a Murderer.” Jesus dying on the cross is not often thought of as a murder. If you visit KCC…

Turn the Camera Around

Turn the Camera around….. by Nanette Israel You know I never took many selfies. Actually didn’t give it much thought until our sermon series used it in a unique, self-reflecting way. What I discovered surprised me and blessed me in a way I never would have guessed. Initially I focused on the photograph, putting our best self out there for publication, often requiring some kind of preparation (make-up, hair done…okay guys for you a shirt and a shave?) Selfies are…
