Worship Hands

“Say cheese”

When was the last time you took a “selfie?”  Here are some “selfie” statistics: I am someone who enjoys a picture much more when someone I know is in the picture.  I want to see what they are doing, not necessarily where they are.  In a meeting just today, one of our staff members mentioned their daughter noticed how many “worship” songs we sing are about us and what God will do for us.  That sounds somewhat like a musical How COVID has affected us

Worship

Hey there, fellow worshippers! As we go head-first through another busy week, I’ve been thinking a lot about what it truly means to worship. We gather on Sundays, lift our voices, and offer our prayers – and that’s beautiful! But what if worship wasn’t just something we do on Sunday mornings? What if it was a way we live every single day? The Bible tells us in Romans 12:1, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, How COVID has affected us

The Bible is full of examples of this kind of uninhibited praise, a worship that isn’t afraid to get loud! In Psalm 100:1, we are called to “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth!” This isn’t a quiet, reserved kind of joy. It’s a How COVID has affected us

Wait…God Hates?

I read a disturbing Psalm this week during my daily Bible reading.  It said some things that I never want to associate with God.  At the top of the Psalm, it simply says, “For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be accompanied by the flute.”  There is no description of when David would have written it and what context in which he would have written it. It starts as a cry for help.  “O Lord, hear me as How COVID has affected us

Boosting Your Faith: 3 Practical Steps

Faith is defined by dictionary.com as “confidence in a person or thing.” When we are talking about the Christian faith, we are putting our faith in God (the person) and the Bible (the thing). Confidence is a term that can be increased or decreased like a thermostat. We can turn a thermostat in our home up to give us more heat. Likewise, if someone turns the thermostat down, the temperature will change accordingly. Placing our confidence in a person or a thing can How COVID has affected us
