We all face mountains in life. They might be mountains of fear, doubt, financial hardship, relationship struggles, or health challenges. From the bottom looking up, they can seem insurmountable, blocking our path. But we serve a God who specializes in moving mountains.
In Matthew 17:20, Jesus says, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” This isn’t a promise that we can manipulate God to fulfill our every whim, but it’s a powerful reminder of the potential of prayer rooted in faith.
When we bring our struggles to God in prayer, we aren’t just voicing our concerns; we’re inviting the Creator of the Universe to intervene, acknowledging that He is greater than any obstacle we face. Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.“
Sometimes, God moves the mountain by directly removing the obstacle. Other times, He gives us the strength to climb over it. He might even choose to reshape the mountain, transforming it into a stepping stone or a testimony of His grace.
Whatever mountain we’re facing today, let’s bring it to God in prayer. We trust that He hears us and that He is able to move mountains in ways we cannot imagine. Let’s pray with the faith of knowing that even the smallest seed of belief can unleash God’s immense power.
