Most of us know the parable of the talents and that it teaches us to use our gifts for the kingdom and the glory of God (Matthew 25:14-30). You may also be familiar with the passages where Paul talks about the different spiritual gifts the Holy Spirit gives us and how we should use them wisely and use them to serve others (1 Corinthians 12 & Romans 12). I wanted to bring these passages to your mind ahead of something really fun happening tonight!

We are putting on a talent show right here at KCC. The show goes from 7:00pm to 9:00 pm. There are going to be people of all ages performing. There will be everything from singing to acting, and innocent magic tricks to aerial acrobatics! This is a perfect example of people using their gifts and talents for the kingdom and glory of God. I’m sure there will be lots of laughs and everyone will have a good time, maybe even YOU!
But we don’t do this just to have a few laughs and some fun. There is a purpose behind tonight’s show. Tonight’s show is a fundraiser opportunity to help a group of our Middle Schoolers go on a mission trip this summer. There are 16 of us headed to Crandon, Wisconsin, with the sole purpose of advancing the gospel. Everyone on that stage tonight is using their God-given gifts to help this cause. How cool is that? While I can’t say everything you’ll see tonight is a spiritual gift per se, I can honestly say that everything is there to glorify God and His Kingdom.
So please come on out and support our next generation making an impact for the kingdom of God.
