Waiting Well

Waiting Well

Waiting is rarely our favorite word. We live in a world of instant answers, fast decisions, and quick fixes. Yet so often, God invites us into seasons of waiting. Waiting for clarity. Waiting for direction. Waiting for the next step. The Bible reminds us that waiting is not wasted time when it’s placed in God’s hands. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5–6

When we’re unsure which way to go, God calls us first to trust, not in our own timelines or instincts, but in His wisdom. Waiting can feel uncomfortable, but it’s often in those quiet, uncertain moments that God does some of His deepest work in us; shaping our character, strengthening our faith, and aligning our hearts with His will. Isaiah offers this promise to those who wait: “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Waiting on God doesn’t mean doing nothing; it means seeking Him, praying expectantly, listening carefully, and trusting that He is already at work, even when we can’t yet see the outcome. If you find yourself in a season of waiting right now, take heart. God is never late. His direction is always purposeful, and His timing is always perfect. Let’s continue to wait well together, anchored in faith and confident that God will make the path clear at just the right time.
