Kalkaska Church of Christ is excited to partner with Freedom Builders for Kalkaska Missions Week, August 12–15. This is an opportunity to put our faith into action by serving individuals and families right here in our community.
Freedom Builders works to meet practical needs through home repair and improvement projects for families who could use a helping hand. During Missions Week, volunteers will head throughout the Kalkaska area to work on assigned projects. You don’t have to be a construction expert to participate. There are opportunities for people with different skills and abilities, and most importantly, a willingness to serve.
Missions Week Schedule
The week begins with orientation at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, August 12. Serve days will take place Thursday through Saturday, August 13–15.
Each serve day, volunteers will gather at Kalkaska Church of Christ at 7:30 AM. We’ll begin the morning with fellowship, coffee, prayer, encouragement, and team assignments before heading out to our projects. Lunch will be provided each day.
More Than Fixing Homes
The heart behind Missions Week goes beyond hammers, ladders, paintbrushes, and repairs. Our purpose is simple:
Above all else, we serve to glorify our Father in heaven.
Every project gives us an opportunity to care for a family, encourage a neighbor, strengthen our community, and demonstrate the love of Jesus in a tangible way. A repaired porch or freshly painted wall may be the project on the work order, but people are always the real priority.
Freedom Builders describes the partnership this way: “We meet the needs, and the faith, of the family, their neighbors, and their community by providing the tools – you provide the heart.”
Join Us!
Set aside August 12–15 and come serve alongside others from KCC and our community. Bring your work gloves, your willingness to help, and a heart ready to serve. Together, we can accomplish a lot in three days while showing our neighbors that they are seen, valued, and loved.
