Emotionally Charged

Mark 10:32-45

1. Following Jesus causes mixed emotions.
   1. Philippians 1 – Paul is filled with joy in chains
   2. Mark 4 the disciples are scared
   3. if a guy came in casting out a demon how would you feel?
2. James and John showed courage.
   1. They ask for an answer before they ask the question
   2. They ask for it all
   3. They look Jesus in the eye and say, “yes, I can take it.”
3. The other 10 showed anger.
   1. 1 Corinthians 13:4 – love is not jealous
   2. James 3:16 – jealousy brings disorder
   3. Proverbs 29:22 – stirs up strife
4. All 12 were humbled.
   1. This plan is counter cultural
   2. His plan is service
   3. His plan is slavery
   4. Jesus reminds them of how he has lived so far
5. The emotion we should always feel is love!
   1. 1 Cor. 13:1-3
