“Say cheese”
When was the last time you took a “selfie?” Here are some “selfie” statistics: I am someone who enjoys a picture much more when someone I know is in the picture. I want to see what they are doing, not necessarily where they are. In a meeting just today, one of our staff members mentioned their daughter noticed how many “worship” songs we sing are about us and what God will do for us. That sounds somewhat like a musical How COVID has affected us
Tell The Story Anyway
There’s a strange tension that comes with sharing your story, especially the messy parts. Maybe you’ve felt it. That little voice that says, “No one needs to hear this.” Or worse, “If they knew, they’d walk away.” But the truth is, your story – your testimony – might be the very thing God wants to use to reach someone who’s hanging on by a thread. “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of How COVID has affected us
YIELDING A GOOD CROP
This year we had an amazing VBS! There is so much work that goes into prepping an event that only lasts a week, but I always pray that the impact that Jesus has on the kids that week will last forever in their lives. This year, I prayed that each child that was here would share their stories of how you can trust Jesus with at least one other child. We had 100 kids at VBS this year, so that How COVID has affected us
The Upside-Down Kingdom
How can anyone read the Sermon on the Mount and not be changed? The message Jesus gives in Matthew chapters 5-7 is a remarkable masterpiece. Jesus’ main point in his message in these chapters is to piece together what the OT scriptures had been saying all along. As he said, he came not to abolish the law, but to fulfill it. He came to bring it to life. Many times this message is hailed as revolutionary, and new. But if How COVID has affected us
Treasures in Heaven
Matthew 6:19-24 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But How COVID has affected us
Only God Knows
Israel has been in the news as it defends itself against outside forces. First, there was the attack from Hamas in 2023. And recently, Iran has decided to retaliate against Israel for the destruction Israel caused. Many see these attacks against Israel as signs that the end of the world is coming. Passages in Zechariah, Ezekiel, and Revelation are being used as Biblical proof that “Armageddon” is about to take place. I try not to feed into those beliefs, nor How COVID has affected us
Unshaken in the Storm
If you’ve been paying attention to the world lately, you might feel overwhelmed — wars, political unrest, economic tension, and moral confusion seem to saturate every headline. It’s easy to feel anxious or disoriented, wondering where truth can even be found. But as followers of Christ, we don’t have to wander in that fog. We have an anchor: the unchanging Word of God. Jesus prayed in John 17:17, “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” In a world full How COVID has affected us
Long Distance
How many of you remember long-distance calls? As a child, we had a house phone. One phone in the entire house that we all had to share. As a teen, I got a phone in my bedroom! It was still on a shared line with the rest of the house, but I thought I was super cool! I would talk on the phone with my friends for HOURS. When I was a senior in High School, I started dating a How COVID has affected us
Graduating with God
Graduation is more than a ceremony. It’s a milestone — a moment where the past meets the future and you stand on the edge of the unknown. Whether you’re finishing high school or stepping out of college, this moment comes with excitement, questions, and maybe even some fear. As Christian graduates, we have the incredible gift of not walking into the future alone. We walk with God. 1. Trust God with What’s Next You might not have all the answers. How COVID has affected us
