Battling Satan’s Isolation Game

Battling Satan’s Isolation Game

I recently finished up a bible study that was one of the best ones I’ve done. It was called “Get out of your head” by Jennie Allen. It talks about how we can have a thought and it just spirals out of control and we are left feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, and insignificant. The study was based in Philippians and followed the journey of Paul. It was a very insightful and timely study. There is so much stress in the world right now and it really helped me to realize that we are in charge of our thoughts.

As much as I loved this study, in the end, I have to say one of my favorite parts was the women that I shared this study with. We started out as a group of about 8 or 9 and because of life, it whittled down to 5. The women who couldn’t continue had a lot of life conflicts and the timing wasn’t right for them, and we continued to pray for them, knowing they were all fighting battles. The women who continued in the group sat down and made a commitment to each other. We knew that God had put us in this group for a reason and that he knew we needed the study.

During the study, we talked about Satan’s attacks and the weapons we have to battle him. I know the weapons that Paul talks about in Ephesians 6:11-20. . .

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.”

We learn about the armor of God but this portion in the yellow is so important! PRAYING FOR EACH OTHER!!! ASKING OTHERS TO PRAY FOR YOU! In a time where we have been shut off from one another, I am thankful for community. Thankful to have people praying for me and thankful to pray for others! We need to be there for one another, and pray for one another! There is nothing worse than feeling alone and isolated and it is exactly what Satan wants for you. Reach out! Share your struggles! Look for ways to help others. The only way to get through anything is by trusting in God and depending on him and the people that he has put in your lives.
