Big Idea:  Before we rebuild or restore, we need to see and have a passion to fix the brokenness.

Deuteronomy 28:1-10

Ezra 1:1-2

Nehemiah 1:1-3

1. Nehemiah was made aware of the situation.
   1. The depth of the brokenness (trouble and shame)
   2. Walls broken and gates destroyed by fire

1:4-6

2. Nehemiah was broken over the situation.
   1. Wept and mourned for days
   2. Fasted and prayed
   3. Acknowledged God, Confessed sin, Supplication

1:7-9

3. Nehemiah confessed over the situation.
   1. Commandments and Statutes
   2. If we’re unfaithful we’ll scatter, but if we return, you’ll return us
   3. His name dwell there

1:10-11

4. Nehemiah became determined over the situation.
   1. Your servants you redeemed
   2. Nehemiah is his servant
   3. The king he serves is just a man

Rebuilding and Restoring is all about Remembering who God is.
