Big Idea:  The New Testament brought a new covenant between God and his people.  The story is the same, however.  We have a choice to follow Him or reject Him.

2 Kings 21:10-15; Matthew 1:21

  1. Jesus came to rescue.

    2. Philippians 2:7-8 – humbled himself
    3. John 13:1 – loved lavishly

1 Peter 5:10; Matthew 3:7-12

  1. Jesus came to restore.

    2. Matthew 5:17 – Law
    3. Matthew 5:44-48 – Love

John 19:28-30

  1. Jesus came to redeem.
    1. 1 John 1:7 – cleansing
    2. Galatians 3:13 – curse

Luke 1:31-33

  1. Jesus will come back to reign.
    1. Revelation 22:7 – soon
    2. Revelation 22:12-13 – judgment
    3. Revelation 22:16 – listen

The covenant is new, the story is the same.  It’s all about His name.
