1. Hard hearts are the pillar of a clouded mind (Ephesians 4:17-19)
   1. Exodus 8:15 – Pharaoh decided he liked his way better
   2. Romans 12:2 – A renewed mind can discern the will of God
   3. Matthew 7:13-14 – Satan makes the path to destruction tempting
2. Renewed minds look ahead as Christ has left the old behind (v. 20-24)
   1. Romans 6:1-4 – We thank God for his grace, but press on as a new creation, not continuously appealing to his grace
   2. Romans 6:5-6 – Our body of sin is brought to nothing in Christ
   3. Psalm 103:10-12 – His love caused our sins to be put behind us
3. Be the “salt of the earth,” not the pillar that was left behind (25-32)
   1. Matthew 5:13 – Don’t be a doormat, add flavor

May the mirrors of our life reflect the joy of rescue, not the temptation of death.
