Big Idea:  The reliable account of Jesus’ birth was to be shared.

2 Timothy 2:2

  1. The Gospel is to be shared with witnesses.
    1. Angels – In the company of God – Job 1:6; 
    2. Shepherds – Symbolic or practical? – Psalm 23:1, Matthew 9:36; Genesis 47:3-4

Why do you think Jesus chose angels and shepherds for this occasion?

  1. Witnesses must be reliable.
    1. Angels – Genesis 19 story (1,10-11,13); Obedient – Psalm 103:20
    2. Shepherds – 2:8 – doing their job, 15-16 – talked and ran

What are the qualities of a reliable witness of the Gospel today?

  1. Reliable means they believe the message.
    1. Angels – Luke 2:10
    2. Shepherds – Luke 2:20
