Attention 4th & 5th Graders!
We are so excited to announce our plans for the superstart! Conference this year! In the past we’ve gone to Chicago. That isn’t possible this year, but we never really went into the city anyway, so this will be a little different but not completely different.

This year we are going to leave Thursday, March 18th. Is a half day so we will leave from the church at 11:45. This will give you a chance to bring in your kid’s bags and any meds etc. We will head to Grand Rapids and stay overnight in a hotel with a pool… so bring a modest swimsuit! All meals will be provided. They will need a change of clothes, PJs, a bible, a swimsuit, and a good attitude!
The Conference is all online so we will be using a conference room at our hotel for that.
- Thursday we will have lunch on the bus, dinner in GR, swim, attend the conference and have a popcorn and movie party.
- Friday we will have breakfast, lunch, dinner, swim, conference, and enjoy a fun activity!
We should be home Friday night around 10 p.m. I believe there is an arcade at the fun activity place if they want to bring spending money, but that is not the main focus of the plans so you don’t need to bring extra spending money.
The cost is $75 per child. Please let me know if the cost is an issue. We have scholarships available to ALL kids for up to half off! Please call or message Sara Blasko or the church office with any questions!
WHAT IS SUPERSTART?
Throughout the event preteens will encounter Christ through worship, interactive teaching and small groups – all of which are designed with their unique needs and maturity in mind. Preteens who attend SuperStart will leave the weekend with not only a great experience, but also the teachings and foundation to further amplify Christ’s call on their lives to become Kingdom workers.
The demand for preteen-specific ministry has continued to increase within America’s churches over the past decade. Many of today’s church leaders realize the importance of a purposeful discipleship tactic for young people in fourth through sixth grades. These preteens need more time, space and resources. They need teaching that is specific to their age group – not too young (or “boring,” as they would say it) and not too old. CIY’s SuperStart exists to help fill the void for this age group, and to come alongside the church in a fun, inventive way to reach students that are often overlooked.
