TESTIMONY – HOW I BECAME A CHRISTIAN

My mother and my maternal grandparents were strong Christian examples throughout my younger life. My mother taught the woman Sunday school class, and I was active in youth activities. I loved studying the Bible. During high school, I attended a Wednesday night Bible study with the minister and six elderly members. I learned a lot about the Bible during these sessions.

FAMILY LIFE

I married Karen Spencer in June 1968.  She went to Lansing to attend Great Lakes Bible College from Spencer Michigan. She worked while I got my Medical Doctor’s degree at MSU. Mary Deb was born in 1973. We came to Kalkaska in 1975 to start my practice at Kalkaska Hospital and our Christian service at Kalkaska Church of Christ. Karen’s job was to do whatever God led her to do and God kept her busy. My job was to support her efforts.  It was a wonderful journey.

HOBBIES

Photography was my love. Traveling with my extended family was my joy. Family activities and church were what I did when not working.  Sleep was a diversion.

EDUCATION

I worked hard on the family fruit farm with 4-H activities through high school. I went to MSU undergrad and medical school with a residency in Family Practice at E W Sparrow Hospital for 11 years.

FAVORITE BIBLE VERSE & BIBLE PERSON

1 Corinthians 1:25. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

King David is my favorite Bible role model.
