Testimony – How I became a Christian
I had been introduced to Jesus at a young age, and always considered myself a believer, but failed to actively pursue Him throughout my early life. A few poor experiences informed my uninformed self that “church wasn’t for me.” I spent my time practicing my trombone and anything else that made noise.
I ended up back in church thanks to an active local music ministry. Not only did it redefine what ‘church’ was, but also nurtured that seed of faith. After several years of heavily ‘secular’ music performance, I longed for a more meaningful experience at a church near home. My wife, Ashley introduced me to Kalkaska Church of Christ, insisting they had “exciting music.” I loved the energy and enthusiasm that the team brought. I was introduced to the team, who heavily shepherded my heart. Additionally, my wife’s family encouraged us and answered our (my) endless list of questions. My wife and I committed ourselves to Christ on the same blizzardy night in March, 2012.
