Haiti Mission Trip
Two Cities! Two missions! Two Life-Changing Opportunities
KCC is planning a mission trip to Port-de-Paix, Haiti and Gonaives, Haiti in February 2019. One team will be led by Tim Severance, our Associate Minister who served 12 years on the mission field in Haiti. The other team will be led by Sara Blasko, our Children’s Minister who grew up in Haiti as a Missionary Kid (MK). Tim will lead a team to Sonlight Ministries in Port-de-Paix, Haiti. Sara will lead a team to H.O.P.E. Mission in Gonaives, Haiti where her parents currently work.
The trip will be one week in-country. A passport is required. Must be 18 years or older or accompanied by a parent with the leader’s approval. Those going on the trip will be responsible for the cost of the trip. Trip team members may hold fundraisers in order to offset their out-of-pocket costs.
Please be aware that there are risks involved with travel to Haiti. American laws no longer apply when in Haiti. Culture and norms are very different in Haiti than a first world country. There is a level 3 travel advisory in effect since July 17, 2018 due to recent riots by those incensed by gas prices rising.
Despite the challenges to travel in Haiti, language and cultural barriers, and financial obstacles, we still believe that every individual who will “deny themselves” and allow God to work in their lives to share the Gospel of Jesus in Haiti, will not only be blessed but will experience life-change like never before!
KCC is having an Informational Meeting to talk about these two mission trips on Monday, August 13 from 6:00 – 7:30 PM in the Green Room at KCC. Please plan to attend if you’re interested in going or just want to know more about it.
