After 45 years of dedicated service in law enforcement, Sheriff Israel will retire effective February 28, 2015.
Sheriff Israel started his career on May 18, 1970 working for the River Rouge Police Department. During his career at this agency, he worked through the ranks retiring as Police Chief in 1994.
Dave moved to Northern Michigan in 1994 where he immediately began his second career in law enforcement serving more than 20 years with the Kalkaska Sheriff’s Office. Dave was elected Sheriff in 2008 and has served six years as Kalkaska County’s Sheriff.
Dave’s plans after retirement are to spend time traveling and camping with his wife, Nanette.
A presentation of honors and tributes is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. At this time, we offer family, friends and guests the opportunity to share both casual and professional experiences involving our honoree.
